Guinness congratulates Eagles, charges team to win trophy

Guinness Nigeria Plc has congratulated the Super Eagles for their heroic performance after defeating the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire 2-1 in the quarterfinal of the African Nations Cup in South Africa on Sunday.
The Eagles rallied to beat title favourites in a thrilling quarterfinal showdown in Rustenburg to reach 2013 AFCON semi finals and end Elephant dreams. Nigeria ended a two-match AFCON winless run against their arch-foes in Rustenburg.
According to Marketing and Innovations Director Guinness Nigeria Plc, Mr. Austin Ufomba this feat is a reflection of the good wishes of Nigerians for the Super Eagles at the AFCON 2013.
“We have proved that the belief of the 160million fans in the Super eagles has truly made all the difference, it has demonstrated the truth of the never say die spirit in the Nigerian character and shown that Guinness was right in galvanising support for the Eagles across all its fan engagement activities” Ufomba said.
Also, Marketing Manager, Guinness, Obinna Anyalebechi described the victory as a great gift to every Nigerians while promising the company’s continuous support to the team.
“We are proud of the Eagles and we want to congratulate them for their heroic feat. We have always believed in this team even when others failed to associate with them.
The Eagles showed their resilience and greatness which Guinness is noted for and that is why we made the largest jersey as part of our support to this great team.
We want to salute the entire team and we are charging them to go for the trophy,” he added.
