Obanya Reviews Eagles’ World Cup Qualifier Against Kenya.

Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, Mr Obanya said contrary to popular perception that the team fell below expectation, the Super Eagles’ game was fair enough.
Recall that a stoppage-time equaliser from Nnamdi Oduamadi spared the Super Eagles’ blushes as the African Nations Cup winners struggled to 1-1 draw with Kenya in World Cup qualifying Group F.
Francis Kahata gave the Harambee Stars a shock lead in the 36th minute and, after nearly an hour of fruitless toiling, Nigeria forced a point through Oduamadi who replaced 2013 AFCON star Sunday Mba in the 75th minute and thus became the Super Eagles hero as he powered a volley four minutes into time added-on of the 90 minutes to see the game end 1-1.
Though Nigeria dominated the game, the determination of Kenya defensive line frustrated the Super Eagles efforts.
The Super Eagles stay top of Group F but are tied on five points from three games with Malawi who beat Namibia 1-0 away in Windhoek.
